What is Involved in Dental Implant Surgery?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When discussing the dental implant procedure, there are a few different steps that may or may not need to be taken, depending on the status of your jawbone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During your initial consultation, your dentist will go over the status of your oral health and whether you require additional treatments such as periodontal therapy or even tooth extraction. They will also discuss the health of your jawbone and if there is enough to support your custom restoration. If not, a bone graft or sinus lift will be recommended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This add-on treatment will add several months to your overall timeline, as your bone will need time to heal. Once the area proves to be more stable, dental implants can then be put into place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the day of your procedure, your oral surgeon will start administering local anesthesia. This will ensure you feel no pain during the surgery. The following steps will then take place:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
